Elemental Magick Options

I was curious i anyone could maybe post up a class lesson on elemental practices and working with the elements ie sylphs,salamanders,gnomes,undines. I really have been wondering about how to go about working with them and just being able to communicate with them in my everyday life i feel a great connection to the elements. But i do not really know how to go about practicing with them please help. Any information on this would be great just please dont put up websites like angelfire i dont find alot of these to be very helpfull just information i already know on them i would really like help from the community and those who have worked with the elemts themselves. Maybe your experiences etc. Thanks in advance to any responses or help.

Any particular ideas of what you might want to accomplish with elemental magic, or are you more in the vein of wanting to know more about precisely what it is and what it can do? Also, are you specifically interested in elemental intelligences and spirits, or more interested in the nature and role of the elements in magical practice overall?

The only way you really get anything out of working with the elements individually is in pursuing elemental balance internally. Beyond that understanding an application of elemental principles is a complete paradigm of magical practice in and of itself. Knowing more about what you want to know, or what you think you don't know, would be helpful.

Im more interested in elemental intelligences. And how they play a role in my everydaylife someways i can work with them in order to feel more connected to them. A class would be very great i would very much like to study the class and more information on the elemntals. Hope someone has what your looking for. If not you might want to look into a few things if you haven already. I have no experience in this sort of magick, but unless I misremember Andrew Lang's Fairy Books are filled with stories of such creachers. The stories where often cautionary tales of one sort or another and give insight in to their nature - if nothing else you might discover where they hangout and what they like. Also, you might look into "fairy magick"; not sure if it is even proper magick but I ran across a wiccan once who claimed to work with gnomes.

They do say that fairies are elementals of air, which they could be, I've not asked.
I don't remember working with fairies magically but their have been times when their perspective and insight have been invaluable.
I get the impression that they deal with the decomposition of dead things, an most of the lore about their desired homes are to do with certain combinations of British tree's,
although i'm sure the american equivalents are their, but any composting materials with a variety of healthy old trees around is a good place to start.

So far as i can tell gnomes are Created. Usually in clay or cement, an thus earthy with an inquisitive and nature gardener trickster type persona.
Like a mini specialist-wizard.

I think personifying anything helps in someway, but personifying something thats their helps more.
I think that communication with them would be best handled by ritually involving them in the process of creating their image + persona, letting them impower themselves with your minds perspective of them,
form is a very mutable thing in their world.

Fire seems alive to me, in varying quantity's, can't see why you would need to see it in any particular form, but i had an enchanted candle that i would see a fiery snake weaving around within.

Sounds like you want to have a more active communication with these forces so it might be a good idea to read book about channeling.

Thank you Draw for your post. I was curious if you would have any good book suggestions on channeling? Just so i can kinda get a basis there are so many books on every subject hard to tell which ones are worth my time to read and which are not.

I'm afraid i've only ever read one, it was yellow and called 'channeling' or how to channel or something, it got nicked
but it was very good an was probably published in the 80's.

to summarize the technique i would say it was about hyping up your trust/expectations/mental energy that a guide will come too you perfect for your developmental needs with a good match to your values etc.
then allowing that energy to manifest through your senses by harmonizing with the unknown.aspects of it through the aspects in which you can identify with, like layers of an onion the full shape of the being emerges.

The book focused on finding a guide but the technique of tentatively expanding on slim identifying connections becomes fluent and can be applied all over.
I'm no expert an it's been a while since i read it, so i might be making that up.

I'm sure their are other books out their, but i know not of them.
I'm sure you will find a way if its what you will.
