I occult book publisher whose blog I fallow posted this lovely essay on modern occultism and social media. I believe that this is timely and worth a read as I reminds us we practice the arcane arts, not the social arts.

--------------------
Cosmic consciousness is devoid of diversity; yet the universe of diversity exists in notion....
We contemplate that reality in which everything exists, to which everything belongs,
from which everything has emerged, which is the cause of everything and which is everything....
The light of [this] self-knowledge alone illumines all experiences. It shines by its own light.
This inner light appears to be outside and to illumine external objects.

-Sage Vasishtha

She makes an excellent point, but a point that is mostly ignored by nearly everyone I know. The internet is mostly popularity contests littered with faceless cowards and predatory advertisers . Facebook is a good concept on the surface but is being abused.

Not sure i get this bit though..
You are mediated by the screen which promises to reveal all but in truth reveals less and less meaning. This all fed into our latest decision taken on returning from the woods with yellow gold leaves and dusk and stands of mushrooms which replaced the ones of the week before, skirts burned into inky inversions by the same invisible fire that lit the trees.

Sounds lovely though!
