Greetings All. Options

Hello all.

I would like to introduce myself. I'm The Celtic Prince, though you may call me Celtic if you wish. I've studied magic for a while, but have had very little time to devote to it because of work, college, and personal matters. I've been trying some techniques for practicing in public without being noticed, but it is still a bit difficult for me to get results like this.

I'm mostly here to perhaps make some friends and get a little support from people in the community. Hopefully we can all get along and help each other out.

You might find that some of the pdf books we have are useful. Normally people try a few different things until they discover what area or tradition or path is best for you. See you around.

Hello All, I am new here as well. I have been on an amazing spiritual path for the greater part of 30 yrs. However to this subject I am new. I am an apprentice Shaman so I have crossed this path but had no idea, was totally unaware of how close I was to this form of magick. I am so eager to learn and experience all that I can.

I have read through much of this forum since I joined and have already learned an amazing amount. I am not sure by the posting dates though that many of you still come very often. There are still many posts yet to read so hopefully we will cross paths. I do have one question, ... Throughout the years when doing a successful ritual or a prayer has been answered or healing has come, I write out prayers of gratitude to chant in ceremonial form but I have not read anything yet of how others express gratitude to the angels, spirits, etc. If anyone can share their methods that would be awesome, but if too personal I understand. It probably varies from tradition to tradition. Thanking them in a formal way is nice and probably appreciated, but the main goal is to deepen your relationship with the spirit or deity. I leave small offerings, burn candles or incense, and fairly regularly go out to the bay and standing between water, land, and sky I speak from my heart, or chant something that I may have written. Generally it is thanking the deities and spirits and just telling them that some of us humans remember them, and pay them respects and honour them. At the end of this I cast a silver coin (well a quarter, but they see it as the traditional silver) into the water. How often I do this depends on the weather, but it probably averages out about once a month. Winter time is cold as a bitch down by Burlington Bay.

azmtngirl: generally I like thank the Gods( I'm polytheistic) with a little prayer when I can. Like I have said, I'm usually too busy to do a formal ritual but I would like to in the future. I agree With Goibniu that it's really about how you best connect with the Deity/Deities you are working with, and how they react to what your doing. As long as your acknowledging them and trying to make a connection I find that most gods are fine with just the little things. ( I haven't been smitten for my insolence yet, so that's a good sign!) Thank you both! I think my insecurities where just getting the better of me because my method was my own creation. I wanted to be sure they know how greatful I truly am. Both of you gave some ideas to expound on. I guess I was thinking to give thanks at a time I was not asking for something would be more genuine.
